Twelve months ago who will tell us that we will be living this mad 2020, full of changes, facing unexpected situations, pushing us until our limits as we have lived. There is no doubt that 2020 has been a different year, full of difficulties and a year of adaptation. As always, this fight against all odds has let us grow, face new challenges, reinvent us and keep showing that together everything is possible.
From Bionix we wanted to make our contribution to this fight against the pandemic. By the end of March, and under a catastrophic situation, with many hospitals colapsed and thousand of people dying, we decided to embark on a project to develop an artificial respirator. And this was how just in 30 days our Freesterra-I respirator was born. We want to thank to all those people, companies and institutions that helped us to make this dream come true. People solidarity never ceases to amaze. We want to thank again to the Chamber of Commerce of Santiago and A Coruña for recognizing our work with the prize of the SME of 2020 as best initative against Covid-19 and thanks to the sponsors Banco Santander and La Voz de Galicia.
But the Freesterra-I respirator wasn’t the only initative we carried out at Bionix, we also commercialize ozone machines for disinfection and capacity control systems to guarantee customers security in closed spaces. To end up the year we also joined the Civil Protection initiative of food collection for the Food Bank. We are very proud of being part of this solidarity initiative.
And regarding our core business, it was a busy year. The sanitary crises show us the importance of logistics and having an efficient supply chain to easy respond to your clients. Companies have seen the benefits of digitalization and automation of logistic processes and from Bionix we have been there to help them. Traditional supply chain is dead, volatility is everywhere, so rethink the supply chain and be resilient is crucial. From Bionix we keep working on offer to our clients the best technology and service not forgetting our goal of democratizing RFID technology for all companies, from the smallest to the largest.
2020 was not a year full of bad news only, we also received positive news such as having been selected to participate in the acceleration phase of the 5th Edition of the BFA (Business Factory Auto) promoted by CEAGA, the Xunta de Galicia, the Consortium of the Vigo Free Zone and Groupe PSA. We have also been selected to participate in the NEOTEC Program, promoted by the CDTI and we have been chosen as beneficiaries of the IFI Innova Program promoted by the Xunta de Galicia through GAIN and IGAPE, which has allowed us to address and accelerate the development of the base chip of RFID technology that will make us establish ourselves as the first European supplier to offer a comprehensive RFID solution to companies to improve their supply chain.
Nor can we fail to mention the new functionality that we have developed for our Cixxonia Cloud platform. In our commitment to sustainability and through our Cixxonia Sustainable Fashion Platform we want to help companies in the textile sector to take another step towards the sustainability of their business, offering a management platform for the information collected throughout the supply chain that will facilitate access to information on each particular item and contact with customers.
In our quest to provide the best possible service to our clients and to continue growing, this year we have consolidated two new alliances. The first with Uniter, our global partner for the development of RFID tags. In this way, Bionix is positioned as the only company nationwide to offer a 360º RFID service with hardware, software and labels solutions, all 100% manufactured in Spain. We have also signed a collaboration agreement with the University School of Industrial Design (EUDI) of the University of A Coruña for the creation and development of new concepts and RFID machines.
We have also launched a website and this wonderful blog to keep you up to date with all the news in the RFID world and for you to learn more about this technology that has helped companies grow and improve for some years now.
Therefore, looking back we see 2020 as a year that has allowed us to grow, adapt, give our best, face new challenges and be able to help our clients improve their supply chain and business. That is why by 2021 we want to continue growing by your side, accumulating successes and helping you make your dreams come true.
